The “Professional” Stuff
I graduated from Tyndale Seminary in Toronto, Ontario with a M.Div. in Spiritual Formation. So, I’m a fully trained spiritual director. Although someone recently said, “like a life coach for your faith,” and I quite like that. I spent a lot of time studying practices to draw closer to God that aren’t taught in your traditional Western Protestant church.
Instead of taking time off, I jumped right back into school and started the Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) program, also at Tyndale. The topic I’m researching is:
Assessing the Impact of Adverse Church Experiences on God-Image and How Spiritual Formation Practices May Help

The “Fun” Stuff
I married my best friend in 2006. It hasn’t always been easy, but he’s my strength and my support. Somewhere alone the line we had two children, who became teenagers! I thought my time in youth ministry had prepared me for the teen years but I was greatly deceived.
I love animals! That cutie on my shoulder is Faith, my conure. I also have chickens, and two cats - Shadow and Roy Kent.
My husband and I are avid board game collectors, and players. Some favourites include Scythe, Wingspan, Nemesis, Ark Nova… and yes - Ticket to Ride, and Catan. Some new favourites we’ve picked up are The Fox Experiment, and Return to Dark Tower.
Not only do we play a lot of board games, we’re a family of Dungeons & Dragons players as well, among other RP games. We’re part of a few different tables that take place in person, as well as over Zoom.
In my spare time (whatever that is!) I enjoy watercolor painting, and reading, because reading academically isn’t enough.
I love to watch movies and have a few favourite T.V. series as well, including:
Star Wars
Schitt’s Creek
Ted Lasso
John Wick
Murdoch Mysteries
Bullet Train
and many, many more.
What to Expect
Reflections about what I’ve been researching.
Quotes, and my thoughts.
Different perspectives.
My beliefs and opinions on topics in the Western Church.
Book reviews.
If your opinion is different than mine, that’s okay. I don’t wish to say something harmful. Quite frankly, I think that’s been accomplished enough in the Western Christian church. However, I fully admit that I’m still growing and learning, which leaves room for improvement.
What Not to Expect
Cohesion - I don’t have a plan.
A specific pattern - see above.
Conservative theology - I think we hear enough of that.
