"Yesterday I Cried"
Sometimes I write poetry... today I wanted to share one

Yesterday, I cried.
I cried for what I lost, and what’s been lost.
For the new hope I witnessed.
For the unknown, but exciting.
Yesterday, I wept.
I wept as the separate worlds I inhabit converged into one.
The new that goes before me.
The uncertainty along the way.
Yesterday, tears fell.
Tears fell as that feeling of “I belong” settled into my chest.
This is me, this is us, this is home.
This is my community.
Yesterday, I smiled.
I smiled as the loneliness melted away.
The delightful shrieks of children filled the air, as they ran through the crowd of adults.
The anticipation cresting the crowd that gathered.
Yesterday, I rejoiced.
I rejoiced because something is changing.
There is hope amongst the little things, the day to day things, the “boring things.”
There is rejuvenation to join.
“Look! I am making all things new.”
