Exciting News!
I've been keeping a secret, and I wanted to share some resources.
I suppose I’d better spill the tea first…
I reached out to Hagar’s Voice, a non-profit organization that helps people who have experienced clergy sexual abuse, and after talking with Angela Lam (the co-founder & co-director) I decided to join their team!
I’m very excited to be working with their activism team, and soon you’ll even see my face on their website.
I’m sure there will be more news to come, but right now, I’m simply enjoying the process of meeting a whole new community.
Now, onto a round up of what I’ve been reading

I just finished the book Cradled in the Arms of Compassion by Frank Rogers, Jr. It’s a long, and winding memoir of how Rogers overcame his experience of childhood sexual abuse, and for that reason may not be an easy read for everyone. Lots of trigger warnings with this one, but when I finished the last page I had goosebumps. How God worked in his story, and met him through imagination and meditation, will stay with me for a long time.
Here are some Substack articles that have caught my attention lately:
What Are They Deconstructing from Scot McKnight
Is it God? The Church? I often get questions like “Why do people deconstruct?” This article shares the “what” that is causing people to ask questions.
An Aversion to Christian Language by Aimee Byrd
This was a great, informing read about how the language used by Christians can cause a reaction in someone who is struggling with the church.
Hope for Baptist Women by Beth Allison Barr
In this latest article, Beth shares her research in the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec, and how it offers hope for women caught in the Southern Baptist Convention. Bonus: I went to school with Pastor Ruth Wilkinson, who is mentioned in this article!
Lastly…
I love free online summits. Someday, I would love to be part of one or even host one! For now, I’ll share the ones that cross my desk, like this one.
A summit bringing spirituality, and mental health. There are some great speakers like Beth Felker Jones, Chuck DeGroat, Alison Cook, and many more! Did I mention it’s free? I’m all signed up and ready to go.
